The Query Letter Project

Examples of Successful Query Letters

If you’re a writer dreaming of landing a literary agent and securing a traditional book deal, you’re going to need to master the art of query letter writing. The query letter is what you send to literary agents, to convince them of your book’s potential and marketability — and while they may seem short and sweet, writing them is anything but!

My top piece of advice for querying writers is this: study examples of successful query letters. This database contains sample query letters from over 70 represented and published authors — as well as stats on their writing journeys. Filter to find letters that share your book’s age range, genre, number of POVs, and representation. Best of luck on your querying journey!
