About the Workshop

What makes a book truly unputdownable? In this 2-hour workshop, you’ll learn how to infuse your story with heat, heart, and emotion-packed hooks — the core ingredients that make readers lean forward, agents take notice, and editors say yes.

We’ll focus on elements of narrative propulsion, from story shape and pacing to conflict, urgency, and emotional payoff. Whether you’re drafting a new manuscript or revising an existing one, you’ll come away with a sharper understanding of how to write a genuine page turner.

Course Takeaways

  1. Understand how to write a page turner and learn how to apply pacing, tension, and stakes to create momentum that keeps readers flipping to the next page.

  2. Diagnose what isn’t working in your draft so you can revise with clarity and intention, turning flat scenes into propulsive storytelling.

  3. Balance heat, heart, and craft to write fiction that moves fast, feels deep, and stays with readers long after they’ve turned the final page.
