Writing Masterclass: Revise Like a Villain

Master the Art of Ruthless Revision with Author Lior Torenberg

Learn killer revision techniques and how to see your work with fresh eyes so you can turn a messy draft into a wickedly sharp story.

DATE: Friday, 10/31/25, 12-1pm ET

WHERE: Zoom (a replay will be available for attendees who can’t apply live)

COST: $39 ($29 early bird)

You have an amazing story to tell — but the writing just isn't as sharp as you know it could be.

Every cut feels painful, and every deleted “darling” makes you worry you’re making your work worse instead of better.

Trying to get as close as possible to objective, ruthless revision is what’ll help you turn your draft into a finished work. Learn tools and techniques to trim the fat, expose the weak spots, and let your strongest writing shine to the surface.

This Halloween, make the hard choices: revise like a villain.

By the end of this workshop, you’ll have practical strategies to get your writing into shape and the confidence to slash your way to a sharper, more undeniable manuscript.

In this 1-hour workshop, you’ll learn:

  • How to navigate the ruthless cutting room floor – Practical strategies for making difficult revision decisions without second-guessing yourself

  • Techniques to see your work with fresh eyes – Break through manuscript blindness and truly be critical of your own writing

  • How (and why) to kill Your darlings – What this actually looks like in practice and which darlings to kill off

  • When to slash and when to save – How to decide what's worth keeping and what's holding your manuscript back

  • Revision rituals and tricks – Make editing less painful (or help you learn to enjoy the pain)
