Query Bootcamp was my first venture out into the writing community from my little lonely silo. I met amazing people and gained a foundational understanding of the publishing industry and query process, including practical tips that I still used when querying my agent years later.
Claire's first novel got zero offers. She shelved it, wrote her next book on maternity leave, and queried cold with no industry connections — landing 18 manuscript requests and multiple offers within six weeks. Her book sold in a major deal, with US and foreign deals totaling over $1 million.

Before I found Query Bootcamp, I was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of information out there and didn't know what would be best, and I wanted a consolidated, streamlined way to figure out what to do.

As someone who loved writing as a child but then put it away come high school/college, to find a community like this that could help me back into it and made it feel doable and accessible was a huge part in my writing journey.

Everything was so new to me, I didn't know what I didn't know.
So much of the process is out of your control — focusing on preparing to the best of my ability was all I could do. Working with my editor Suzy made the biggest difference, and I loved the "How I Got My Agent" panel.
